Hanging Chair

There isn’t much to say about this project except that I love it. Sometimes I escape up to my room, lock the door, crack the outside door it’s located next to, and dive into a good book while relaxing in this comfy chair. This doesn’t happen nearly often enough.

The chair itself was just bought online. We decided to use a stand instead hanging it from the ceiling, especially since we have vaulted ceiling in that room. It may sound like we were super decisive on this project and I assure you, we were not. Mike got me the chair for Christmas, which it then sat rolled up in a corner gathering dust until May-ish when I’d gotten a bee in my bonnet and sold all of our bedroom furniture so we had blank slate to work with. So for Mother’s Day he made the stand which then was finally stained a couple months later when we made the head board. You could call it a multi-part gift.

I really love this chair. I feel like it gives the room a certain charm and relaxed feeling. Also, Mike of course, did some analysis on it and told me it should at least hold 300 lbs. Which is good because sometimes I forget to lock the door and children can sense when their mother is trying to relax like a velociraptor can sense it’s prey and I end up with some company.
