Headboard with Storage

We recently updated our bedroom. Before, we had some two large dressers and two nightstands. It made our moderately sized master bedroom feel small. We decided to sell all of the furniture and use what we made in the sell to refurnish it in a more minimal way and more our style. That left us with about a $300 budget. Most of what was in the drawers got relocated to the closet and for what remained, I bought a cute, smaller used dresser for $150. So that left us with $150 for the rest of the room. Buying any furniture new adds up quickly, even if buying from budget places like Ikea. We wanted a headboard. We’ve been adults for a long time now and never had one so we thought it was time. We decided to combine the nightstands with the headboard to save on space and money. I’ve seen similar ones, but they are usually cheap looking or expensive so we opted to make our own.

I love the bookshelf space personally, but you could always opt to make it a third drawer if you felt so inclined. You can even string your charger cable for your phone through some gaps and have a charging station in there too.

Yes, we added pulls to the drawers. Here it is with it’s finishing touches and actually attached to a bed.
